2017 will be the third year for the Cranleigh Parish Boundary Challenge. We have learnt a lot from the previous two events and will be making a few changes in 2017.
The event is being renamed the Cranleigh Trail Marathon, incorporating the Cranleigh Half Marathon and Cranleigh Challenge Walk.
In order to simplify route marking and volunteer requirements on the day, the Cranleigh Trail Marathon becomes a two lap course, utilising most of the top half of the original Cranleigh Parish Boundary Challenge.
We have made some minor adjustments to the route, allowing the Half Marathon and Challenge Walk routes to finish in the same place at the Trail Marathon, at the start line in Snoxhall Fields.
One of our biggest logistical challenges from the event this year was managing two finish lines; one at Snoxhall Fields and one at Cranleigh Showground. Finishing all three events in the same location will also mean half marathon participants will no longer need to walk the mile or so from their finish back to the car park!
Online entries will be available via SiEntries very soon. We have introduced an overall entry cap (runners and walkers) of 500 places for 2017, and the event takes place a weekend later than this year, creating a little more time for recovery for those taking place in the London or Brighton marathons during April.
We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday 14th May 2017 for what promises to be another excellent event.
